Fighting Global Hunger

Together we can provide help and hope for those dying from hunger around the world.
Fighting Global Hunger

130% more – the shocking increase over the last 3 years in the number of people with acute food insecurity.

These numbers keep rising as the world bears the economic fallout of the pandemic; as the war in Ukraine increases the cost of grain, fertilizer, and energy and disrupts global supply chains; and as more frequent climate events destroy crops and affect livelihoods.

This massive global crisis requires a global response. It requires you, and all of us, working together.

When you give to the BWA, you help us address hunger at the grassroots level and through local churches in some of the most vulnerable contexts, including:

South Sudan

Providing for food items such as maize flour, lentils, and oil, as well as seeds, nets, boats, and other items requested by the Baptist Union to alleviate food insecurity. We are also partnering with Texas Baptists to repair broken wells and construct new wells to improve access to clean water.

Central African Republic

Providing 200 families with training, tools, and startup seed in conservation farming in order to invest in long-term solutions for families who experienced destruction and displacement following war and violence.

Ethiopia

Providing 2,040 people with conservation farming business training and professional networking with a special focus on standing with women in rural poverty even as experts project that in 2023 there is an increasing likelihood of famine in Ethiopia and the Horn of Africa.

Sri Lanka

Helping 500 people suffering from food insecurity in the midst of hyperinflation, job loss, and political instability.

West Papua

Providing an emergent helicopter food drop to help 500 people in a village cut off by sudden flooding

With hunger increasing around the globe, the time to respond is now. Together we can make a difference.
