BWA General Council Resolution 1991.1

REALIZING that over four billion people in our world do not know Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour and that one-fourth of the world’s population has never heard the Gospel,

ACKNOWLEDGING the commitment that member bodies of the BWA have made through the Seoul Covenant to world evangelization.

THEREFORE the General Council of the Baptist World Alliance, meeting in Montreal, Canada, July 10- 13, 1991, resolves to give priority to sharing the good news of Jesus Christ in word and deed to those who have never heard.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT every Baptist be urged to affirm our Biblical and historic belief in the priesthood of all believers through a renewed commitment to witness personally to Jesus in everyday life.
