BWA Executive Committee Resolution 1948-08.1

  1. A resolution was introduced approving a decision made by the Administrative Committee re the incorporation of the Baptist World Alliance. Dr. Adams moved the adoption of the resolution. The motion was unanimously carried. The resolution is s follows:

WHEREAS at a meeting of the Administrative Committee held on December 2, 1947 the following resolution was unanimously passed:

“Mr. Fraser presented the necessary steps to be taken in order to incorporate the Baptist World Alliance, and read the Articles of Incorporation which he had prepared.

“Motion was made and unanimously adopted that Dr. Johnson, Dr. Lewis and Mr. Fraser be authorized to act as the incorporators of the Baptist World Alliance, and that they proceed at once with the necessary steps for incorporation.”

Now THEREFORE, Be It Resolved that the Executive Committee of the Baptist World Alliance, an unincorporated association elected at Copenhagen, Denmark, on August 2, 1947, do hereby ratify and approve the aforesaid action of the Administrative Committee authorizing the incorporation of the Baptist World Alliance and resolve that in its opinion said Administrative Committee was acting within its authority in so authorizing the incorporation of the Baptist World Alliance and in the transfer of all the assets and property of said Baptist World Alliance, an unincorporated association, to the Baptist World Alliance, a new corporation, and we hereby authorize, ratify and approve of said transfer of all of the assets and property to the Baptist World Alliance, a new corporation and any and all actions heretofore taken or may now be deemed necessary or advisable to be taken to vest in the new corporation, Baptist World Alliance, complete title to all the assets, contracts, agreements and property, real, personal and mixed, formerly owned or held by the Baptist World Alliance, an unincorporated association.

  1. It was agreed that for the information of the members of the Executive Committee a copy of the incorporation papers is to be sent them.
