BWA General Council Resolution 1989.8

The General Council of the Baptist World Alliance, meeting in Zagreb, Yugoslavia, August 1989, hereby expresses to the Baptist Union of Yugoslavia heartfelt thanks for its warm hospitality and the opportunity to meet in Zagreb, a leading cultural and industrial center.

We are grateful to the officers of the Union — President Zelimir Srnec and General Secretary Simi Orcic — for enabling us to gather, for the first time in the history of the Alliance, in Eastern Europe.

And we recognize, with appreciation, the long and devoted contributions of BWA vice president Josip Horak. This fellow member of the BWA General Council has given unstintingly of himself to Baptist life and Christian witness in this part of the world.

We will leave this city with gratitude and ask God’s continuing and rich blessings on Yugoslavian Baptists.
