Global Events

For more than 100 years, the Baptist World Alliance has facilitated gatherings for Baptists from around the world to gather together for worship, fellowship, and service. This includes Annual Gatherings that are hosted on a rotational basis by members of our regional fellowships, evangelistic events, theological conferences, and Baptist World Congresses – the BWA’s premier event hosted once within each quinquennium.

2022 Global Impact Day

Every BWA Baptist church is encouraged to set aside one Sunday a year for Global Impact Day to focus on the global Baptist family. Formerly known as BWA Day, this strategic time of prayer, celebration, and action gives us the opportunity to focus our hearts and minds on God’s global mission in action. Whether through a time of dedicated prayer, sharing of a video, sermon emphasis, or special love offering to help Baptists across the globe, joining in this initiative serves as a powerful reminder that Baptists from every continent are impacting the world for Christ.

Churches and small groups are free to choose any Sunday; however, many Baptists around the world set aside Pentecost Sunday. For most Baptist churches, this will be on June 5, 2022. Find out more or sign up to participate.

2022 Annual Gathering

We will have the opportunity to gather together in person at the 2022 Annual Gathering hosted by Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama (USA), so please mark July 10-15 on your calendars. With a strategic focus on racial justice, this Annual Gathering will include a meaningful time of corporate prayer and worship, a racial justice journey, and 70 hours of breakout sessions in commissions ranging from racial justice to religious freedom, Baptist identity, creation care, Baptist doctrine and more. Registration will open soon. Watch for more details!

PAST EVENTS: “Standing Together” at Pentecost

100 years ago our global Baptist family stood together by giving the first Baptist World Aid gift to communities suffering in the aftermath of the Spanish Flu pandemic. One hundred years later, the global church stood together once again on behalf of a global church that is suffering. More than 10,000 Baptists from over 100 countries united together in worship, stood together in prayer, and gave together to help those in need. Click below to watch the Pentecost worship services.
