Responding When Disaster Strikes

Southeastern United States Devastated by Storms

More than a week after Hurricane Helene tore through the southern United States, many communities in western North Carolina are grieving loss of life and destruction of homes. Millions across Florida braced this week for the impact of Hurricane Milton, only 13 days after Helene moved through the region, and now find themselves yet again picking up the pieces after a disaster. It’s a season of uncertainty, but one thing is clear – aid is urgently needed to help these devastated communities.

Baptist World Aid is working with our North American partners to meet immediate needs for food, shelter, and other basic necessities and to plan for longer-term relief efforts.

Will you help us respond to those in need at this critical time?

  • Pray for safety and protection of those affected by the floods – that God would shield them from further harm, provide shelter, and keep them safe from the dangers posed by rising waters.
  • Pray for rapid and well-coordinated relief efforts – that aid workers would reach those in need quickly and with the necessary resources to alleviate suffering.
  • Pray for God’s comfort and peace to surround those who have lost loved ones – that they would feel His presence during this time of grief.
  • Pray for continuous support and strengthening for response teams as they respond to the devastation on the ground.
