Baptist World Congress Registration Opens

Global Gathering to Convene in Brisbane, Australia, in July 2025

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(FALLS CHURCH, VIRGINIA, USA – October 5, 2023) Drawing from more than a century of history hosting the world’s largest gatherings of Baptists, the Baptist World Alliance will convene July 7-12, 2025, for the 23rd Baptist World Congress in Brisbane, Australia. This quinquennial event promises to be an inspirational gathering of Baptist theologians, ministry leaders, and church members from around the world – fostering unity, spiritual growth, and a deeper understanding of global Baptist mission and ministry.

Hosted in partnership with Australian Baptist Ministries and Queensland Baptists in the vibrant and culturally diverse city of Brisbane, the 2025 Baptist World Congress is expected to be a landmark event for the Baptist community worldwide.

“We’re really thrilled to host the 2025 Baptist World Congress on behalf of Australian Baptist Ministries,” says Stewart Pieper, Director of Services for Queensland Baptists. “We’ve started preparations and are working hard to make this the best Congress ever. We want to welcome you with open arms and open hearts to our beautiful city so that we can encourage each other to be the hands and feet of Jesus.”

The theme, “Living the Good News,” is drawn from Luke 4:18-19 and reflects the missional commitment of Baptists across the globe to daily and holistically share the Gospel in word and deed. The logo was designed by Australian Indigenous artist Mariah Sweetman and is rich with symbolic meaning, both spiritually and culturally.

The Congress will feature a wide range of speakers, workshops, and activities all designed to inspire and equip attendees to make a positive impact in their communities and the world. With special pre-Congress Summits for women and next-generation leaders as well as unique offerings for children and teenagers, the event has something to offer for the whole family.

“The BWA Congress provides an opportunity for everyone to gather together and enjoy being part of the Baptist global family regardless of age. Adults, teenagers, and children will have a gateway to a meaningful encounter with God and each other – enabling them to draw closer to Christ and closer together as a global family living out God’s global mission,” says Carolina Mangieri, BWA Director of Global Events and Fellowship / Congress Director. “I am looking forward to a reunion of fellowship with longtime friends, but I also hope to greet those who have never attended a BWA Congress.”

Registration is now open with participants encouraged to register early to receive a special discounted rate. Registration details can be found on the official Baptist World Congress website, BWABrisbane.com, with new information being added regularly as the event nears.
