BWA World Congress Resolution 2000.4 Renewal, Growth, Evangelism and Mission

The Baptist World Alliance Congress meeting in Melbourne Jan. 5-9, 2000 GIVES thanks to Almighty God for the boundless blessings God bestows;

ACCEPTS humbly the responsibility God places on us as Christian leaders and people to share actively in God’s Kingdom endeavors involving spiritual renewal, growth, evangelism and mission;

REAFFIRMS the priority given by the BWA to proclaiming good news in Jesus Christ;

THANKS GOD for achievements in evangelistic endeavor achieved during the past quinquennium by the BWA and its member bodies under the inspirational leadership of our President, General Secretary, Directors and BWA Staff;

ACKNOWLEDGES the many initiatives in mission and evangelism which Baptist unions and conventions undertook during the closing years of the last century;

CALLS upon the officers and staff of the Baptist World Alliance as well as its divisions, committees, commissions, regional fellowships and member bodies to focus their resources and attention on redoubling efforts to proclaim and demonstrate the Gospel in the twenty-first century.
