For more than 70 years, sisters in Christ have united in prayer for the Baptist Women’s World Day of Prayer hosted by Baptist World Alliance Women. What a legacy to honor and a history to join as we gather once again to pray this year in homes, churches, and communities around the world!

The 2022 theme is “Victorious Life” drawn from the truth of 2 Corinthians 2:14 –
“But thanks be to God, who always leads us in the triumph of Christ, and through us reveals the fragrance of the knowledge of him in every place.” As you pray this year, imagine the fragrance of our collective prayers being lifted in more than 100 nations! We are confident you will be blessed and encouraged as we gather for the reading of God’s Word, hear stories of victory, and seek the Lord in prayer.

Your Day of Prayer Guide

This year we have created a 16-page guide filled with information to help you plan and participate in Day of Prayer, including specific prayer requests and “Celebrations of Victory” from each Continental Union as well as details about this year’s global ministry projects. The guide also includes a Bible study from BWA Women President Karen Wilson. Due to increased cost of paper, printing, and mailing, we have a limited inventory of printed guides, so we encourage you to utilize the digital resources when possible. EXPANDING YOUR DAY OF PRAYER EXPERIENCE

This year we are also excited about three new elements within the Day of Prayer experience. Read below to find out more about exciting ways to connect with your Baptist sisters around the world.

Networking

Through the launch of our virtual platform, you will be able to network with women’s ministry leaders around the world, discover how others are celebrating Day of Prayer, and collaborate to further our shared mission. SIGN UP NOW!

Resourcing

On our new website (BWAWomen.org) launching soon, you will find a variety of Day of Prayer resources, including a 40-day prayer calendar that you can use leading up to your Day of Prayer event or as a follow-up prayer plan after your event.

Worshiping

Across our social platforms, we will be hosting our first Global Day of Prayer Worship Service, and you are invited! Make plans to join us online October 15 for a powerful time of prayer and praise to kick off the 2022 Day of Prayer observances.

Praying in Your Language

Over the last decade, women have translated the Day of Prayer guide into more than 80 languages, enabling thousands of women to participate in their heart language. As we receive translated versions of the guide, we will add those to our website to ensure they are accessible to all.

Help Spread the Word

We are busy creating resources to help you promote your Day of Prayer event, including videos, posters, social media graphics, presentation slides, and more. Check back weekly to discover newly added resources or follow us on social media (@BWAWomen) to ensure you have the full array of our resources to promote your gathering. There is power in the living Word of God, so we encourage you to join us in a time of study together. We have Bible studies from BWA Women President Karen Wilson as well as BWA Women Executive Director Merritt Johnston with more being added soon from around the world.
