Praises

  • Baptist Union of Scotland
    • We are grateful to God that we are seeing an increase in people coming to know Jesus, being baptized, and becoming part of our churches. We are thankful that nine young adults are committed to a new year-long discipleship and development program designed to help them grow in their faith, explore their calling, and gain practical ministry experience in their local context.
  • BMS World Mission
    • We give thanks for the Lord’s provision. We are grateful for opportunities to equip people from hard-to-reach places.
  • Praise God for ministry among women through Project Violet and for news of increasing numbers of baptisms in local churches across Great Britain.
  • Thank God for the youth work which has gathered young people from across Wales. Praise God for newly ordained ministers who have responded to God’s call during challenging times.
  • Join us in thanking God for the partnership between BMS World Mission and BWA Horizons, which supports the ministry of two staff members serving in the rapidly-growing areas of Africa and India. We also give thanks for the leadership of Alan Donaldson (Scotland), General Secretary of European Baptist Federation.

Prayer Request

  • Baptist Union of Scotland
    • Please pray for us as we seek to appoint a new General Director and for interviews taking place on February 11. Pray for wisdom and discernment to call the right person to this role. Pray also for new initiatives in church planting and for courage and confidence for those leading in these areas.
  • BMS World Mission
    • Please pray for the Expect26 gathering happening in June 2026, an event held every four years where Partners, BMS staff, Council Members, and Trustees come together to discern God’s will for our direction together in Mission. Pray for BMS as we continue on our transformation journey, particularly in how we engage with organizations and networks globally.
  • Pray for the upcoming national Baptist Assembly in May and for local Baptist churches as they seek to share Jesus in the communities in which they have been placed across Great Britain.
  • Pray for exemplary care for all in Glyn Nest Baptist Residential Care Home for the elderly in southwest Wales and for the appointment of a new finance officer for the union.
  • We continue to pray for the ministry of BMS World Mission as they work in collaboration with Baptist World Aid and European Baptist Federation to provide vital humanitarian aid to Ukraine and neighboring countries impacted by the war.
