BWA General Council Resolution 2002.4

The General Council of the Baptist World Alliance meeting in Seville, Spain, July 8-13 2002: AFFIRMS that Jesus Christ calls the church to proclaim the gospel to all nations (Matt. 28:18- 20);

COMMENDS our Division of Evangelism and Education for its leadership in promoting global evangelism;

REJOICES in reports presented at this General Council of people in many nations coming to a saving faith in Jesus Christ;

REGRETS that such progress too often is not experienced among all Baptists;

CALLS for theological reflection on the task of evangelism which leads to renewed and appropriate evangelistic activities, and

ENCOURAGES all Christians to confess their faith in Christ and to engage in evangelism in every context.
