2027 BWA Annual Gathering

God’s abundant love overflows with healing and invitation in an unchanging mission to a world that is in constant motion. The Holy Spirit is continually at work before us in all people and all places opening new doors, crossing new boundaries, and inviting us to discern, respond, and move in ongoing witness, compassion, justice, and prayerful service. God’s mission is constant; our movement must be responsive. Seeking where God is already at work among the nations and our calling to be formed together in shared discipleship and shared mission, we will ask: will we remain rooted in Christ enough not to drift, humbly responsive enough to the Holy Spirit to adjust, courageous enough to move, and united enough to move together in a mission in motion? The 2027 BWA Annual Gathering in Trinidad will convene at a Caribbean crossroads shaped by a multicultural encounter of peoples, cultures, histories, and traditions and a vibrant Baptist witness. Each morning will begin in prayer with one another and for the peoples of the world. Daily worship will include a biblical challenge that explores the unchanging Missio Dei and faithful holistic witness amid everchanging cultures, approaches, technologies, and opportunities. Throughout the Annual Gathering we will hear stories of BWA Baptists living integrated mission and engage in breakout sessions exploring what is means to remain rooted in Christ and responsive to the Holy Spirit’s leading amid the realities of today. Recognizing that we are called both to proclaim and embody the Gospel, this Annual Gathering will deepen our discipleship, move us from conviction to action, and strengthen our witness to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior by calling us to serve a wounded world with whole-Gospel witness that integrates worship, evangelism, discipleship, compassion, and justice into a Mission in Motion that is rooted in Christ and responsive to the Spirit.

Ahead of the Mission Conference and the Annual Gathering, the Baptist International Humanitarian Action and Development Intensive Course will be held June 29 – July 2 in Trinidad & Tobago. This is open to people from BWA Member Partners and their churches who are responsible for leading and managing aid and development and/or social service projects primarily within the Caribbean Region and leaders of BWA Member Partners in the Caribbean who desire to develop an aid and development ministry as part of the work of the Convention/Union. People working in this field from other regions are welcome to apply to join if space allows. Detailed information about the course and costs etc, and an invitation to apply to join the course will be sent in October 2026.
