Thank you for your interest in serving with the BWA for the five-year quinquennium beginning July 2025 and concluding July 2030. Your service within a BWA Commission or Committee is a strategic role in furthering the mission and ministry of the Baptist World Alliance to “Network the Baptist Family to Impact the World for Christ.”  Listed below are key resources to help you in the discernment process as you prayerfully consider your service within the BWA.

Nominee Information

The BWA General Council approved a new Constitution and Bylaws in July 2024 at the Annual Gathering in Lagos, Nigeria. The Constitution and Bylaws provide a framework for BWA governance and infrastructure. Please take time to review and familiarize yourself with its contents, particularly as it relates to your potential role as a Commission and/or Committee Member.

Every BWA Commission and Committee member shall serve within a Covenant of Service. Together we covenant to pray, embrace, celebrate, learn, and work together as growing disciples in a worldwide Baptist family under the belief that the Lord has called us to co-labor together for his glory and the fulfillment of the BWA’s mission as part of the Kingdom of God.

Committee and Commission Expectations provides a framework for individuals as they seek to engage efficiently and fruitfully within their BWA role. This includes details related to financial responsibilities, length of service, and organizational connectivity.

Nominee Information

Principles and Guidelines for Intra-Baptist Relationships, prepared by the Special Commission on Intra-Baptist Relations, aims to provide a framework for the BWA’s response to the diversity of language, culture, opinions and perspectives in meetings and in the various operations of the international body. It takes into account the great diversity that exists among Baptists, particularly within the BWA, which has more than 250 member organizations in over 130 countries. It was ratified unanimously by the General Council in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, in July 2013.
