BWA World Congress Resolution 1980.7

Recognizing the grave world shortages of oil and many other sources of energy,

We urge on all governments and all members of our churches the need for careful and responsible husbanding of such resources, having in mind the effects of these shortages on the economies, especially of developing countries, and the requirements of succeeding generations.

We urge upon our governments and industries the need to locate and clean up abandoned sites where hazardous waste has been dumped, and we support legislation which will discourage future disposal of waste in a manner dangerous to human beings and living things.

We encourage experimentation and use of alternative natural sources of energy such as wind, sun, and water.
