RECORDS its deep concern and sympathy for all victims of violence, especially the bereaved, injured, homeless and refugees, and its support and solidarity for all those of whatever religious faith and ethnic community who are striving for a peaceful solution based on a full recognition of human rights;
COMMENDS WITH GRATITUDE the Baptists in that region for their courageous and compassionate ministry of aid to the victims of hatred and war, of whatever ethnic and religious community, assuring our brothers and sisters of the practical and prayerful support of the worldwide Baptist family; and,
JOINS with the international community in urging both the political leaders of all the communities involved and all commanders of military units to take immediate steps to end the armed conflict, in order that the work of relief, reconciliation and reconstruction, to which we also commit ourselves, may be speedily advanced.
