The General Council of the Baptist World Alliance meeting in Havana July 5-8, 2000

OFFERS sincere thanks to the Baptists of Cuba and the local congregations in Havana for their warm welcome and generous hospitality;

ACKNOWLEDGES the gracious welcome to the Republic of Cuba given by Minister for Religious Affairs, Caridad Diego, and other representatives of the Republic;

COMMENDS and thanks Dr Victor Samuel Gonzalez Grillo, chair of the Local Arrangements Committee, and all those from the Baptist churches in Cuba who have worked in preparing for the 2000 sessions of the General Council;

APPRECIATES the inspiring leadership of our outgoing President, Dr Nilson Fanini and our incoming President, Dr Billy Kim, within the Baptist World Alliance, and

EXPRESSES gratitude to our General Secretary, Dr Denton Lotz, staff members and all those who have contributed to the successful nature of this General Council.
