The General Council of the Baptist World Alliance meeting in Dresden July 11-17, 1999

OFFERS sincere thanks to the Union of Evangelical Free Churches in Germany and the local congregations of Dresden and vicinity for their warm welcome and generous hospitality;

ACKNOWLEDGES the gracious welcome to the State of Saxony given by Herr Gunther Portune, state secretary in the ministry of culture;

COMMENDS Eckhard Schaefer, general secretary of the Union of Evangelical Free Churches in Germany, and his staff for their success in preparing for the 1999 annual sessions of the General Council;

APPRECIATES the extraordinary amount of work put forth by German Baptists and Baptist World Alliance staff in assisting the largest attendance ever recorded at a General Council meeting; and

EXPRESSES profound gratitude and loving appreciation to its President, General Secretary, staff members, leaders of divisions, departments, committees, commissions, and others whose labor behind the scenes has contributed to the successful conduct of this council.
